The Thin Man

I haven't drank as much as I might like at the Thin Man, and admittedly I've spent a lot more time at St. Mark's Coffee shop with which they share a kitchen, however, I'll say that I like it. And I like it to the degree that anytime I'm up that direction I might even stop by just to see the single, attractive, successful 30 somethings tie one on after work. If you stop by it is even likely that I might be one of them-- minus the successful and good looking part, but in case any of you ladies are interested I am 30 something and single.

I don't know if The Thin Man gets its name from the 1934 Silver Screen flick or not, or if it is simply that the dimensions are about 5 feet wide and seemingly infinite in length, but I do know that The Thin Man, which is decked out in every Christian Saint known to even the most pious pontiff, gives you the feeling that you are drinking in a long hallway leading to Chihuahua. In case you're wondering, I did check out the back door and it appears that there is just an alleyway. I was a little disappointed. Comprised primarily of late 20 to mid 30 something's the draw here is a great patio, and easy communication between tables that are pressed together like a soft loaf of Wonderbread. While not normally and advocate of this seating arrangement it seems to work here because of the amiable character of the clientele, a character that seems to build as the alcohol is spread thickly between the slices. Like any good sandwich the spread keeps the bread together.

They have a regular board of specials each day and serve up a great Sangria that just the other day I was taking refreshing dips in, in order to cool down between shots of Jameson and pints of beer. I will also say that the bartender who was serving me and my friend was hot. I don't know her name--which for these purposes is probably best, but it was (sadly) one of the highlights of my work day.  Anyway, our bill wasn't bad and I will say that the price wouldn't be either a draw or a deterrent for me going there in the future.
